August Kesseler The Daily August Pinot Noir

The grapes for this Pinot Noir from August Kesseler are hand-picked and then sorted again in the winery. Each parcel is vinified separately. The wine is aged for 18 months in new oak French Barriques.

The Daily August Pinot Noir has aromas of cherry, blueberry and redcurrant with a subtle spice. A light to medium bodied wine with a lovely freshness. Gentle tannins with a long, delicate finish. Try with white meats, risotto and mushroom dishes. 

When August Kesseler took over the company founded in 1924 by his parents, he was just 19 years old. At the time it consisted of a small 2.5ha large-barrel wine business, and he worked hard to achieve the enviable international reputation he enjoys today. Located in the Pinot Noir heartland of Assmannshäusen, in one of the most prestigious wine growing areas for Riesling - the Rheingau, August Kesseler have some of the best Pinot Noir and Riesling sites that the lower and middle Rheingau have to offer spread over 32.5 hectares.
