Cascina Radice Nibbio Barbaresco

This stunning wine from Cascina Radice is made up from 100% Nebbiolo grapes from vineyards in the area of Neive and Treiso (Cuneo). Maceration takes 12 days and is made in steel tanks. For a better extraction of colour and tannins it is pumped over several times. This wine is then aged for 24 months in oak barrels then a further 6 months ageing in the bottle.

Garnet in colour with intense aromas of red cherry and redcurrant. These flavours follow onto the palate along with earthy mushroom notes with a hint of white pepper. Roberto and Andreas Mazzei took on Cascina Radice winery in the 90s. The property dates back to the 1890s and is surrounded by the hilly countryside in the small town of Moasca. The pair have worked tirelessly to modernise production without compromising on the passion and care required to maintain the vineyards.
