Rook en Spieëls Bosbrand Carignan
Beschreibung
Bosbrand Carignan is a vibrant, character‑driven red that captures the wild energy of South Africa’s heritage vineyards. Sourced from old, dry‑farmed Carignan bush vines, the fruit is handled with a gentle, minimalist touch to preserve purity, freshness, and the grape’s naturally expressive personality. The fruit is aged in large French oak for depth.
The nose bursts with black cherry, blueberry, violets, and a flicker of smoky spice, echoing the wine’s name - Bosbrand, meaning “bushfire”. On the palate, it’s juicy, bright, and beautifully lifted, offering layers of dark berry fruit, subtle earthiness, and a lively acidity that keeps everything fresh and energetic. Fine, supple tannins give structure without heaviness, making this extremely drinkable. Enjoy slightly chilled for a more fruit-forward style. Try with barbecued meats, grilled vegetables, spiced lamb, tapas, charcuterie, tomato based dishes or hard cheese.
