Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel Brut Rose

Pioneered by Frans Malan of Simonsig Estate in the 1970s, Kaapse Vonkel was the first MCC crafted using the traditional Champenoise method (Méthode Traditionnelle). This meticulous process involves a second fermentation in the bottle, creating the delicate bubbles and complex flavours that define a great sparkling wine.

Exquisite salmon in colour with aromas of rose petals, sweet strawberries and juicy fresh berries. On the palate, the fine bubbles create a rich creaminess. An initial burst of red fruit sweetness, beautifully balanced by a refreshing acidity with white peach and apple on the finish. Try with canapés, grilled prawns, vibrant salads, chicken dishes or a cheeseboard. 

Simonsig Family Vineyards is an independent, family-owned farm synonymous with the history of the South African wine industry, the Stellenbosch wine region, and the Malan family name. Frans Malan is honoured for co-founding the thriving Stellenbosch Wine Route, a first in its time. Today, his legacy lives on through his sons, Francois and Johan, and grandchildren Christelle and Michael, the 2nd and 3rd Malan generations at Simonsig Family Vineyards.
