Tikves Babuna Red

Tikves Winery in the Macedonian region of the same name have been narrating the Republic of North Macedonia’s winemaking story since 1885. A wine made with a blend of Plavec, Vranec and Shiraz. It's aged for 12 months which adds complexity and structure.

A bold and full-bodied wine with aromas of blackberry, cherry, and baked plum giving way to violet. Dry, with refreshing acidity and fine tannins. Flavours of pomegranate, sour cherry, and raspberry linger on the succulent finish. Try with salmon, roast lamb, game, roasted/grilled vegetables or a variety of cheese.

The Republic of North Macedonia remains one of Europe’s last undiscovered wine countries: it is a natural paradise of vineyards, mountains, lakes and rivers, with a climate perfectly suited to producing quality grapes. The Tikveš vineyards are sustainably cultivated, with 80% of the vines planted on the slopes of hillside plots with east or south easterly orientation.
